New for 2022

Hunting/Parking permits will be required to access the farm property for the 2022/23 hunting season and must be clearly displayed on the dash of your vehicle.

Permits can be requested by contacting Mike Feagley but would prefer individuals picking it up at any of the monthly meetings in person. Mike’s contact information is listed in the Fall 2022 Fulton County Sportsmen’s League Newsletter. 2023/2024 permits will require fees/credits to obtain or secure a permit. Credit toward the permit fee can be built by selling or purchasing the bi-annual raffle tickets supplied in the newsletters. Individuals seeking credit for permits must remit their tickets and payments to me at the address above so that I can be sure you receive credit. Permits must be returned to me no later than June 1 of the expiring hunting season to be eligible for the following hunting season permit. This is required to compile data for the clubs use for improving your experience at the club grounds.

Permits will be become immediately void January 1st 20## if the membership dues are not paid prior to the start of the new year. The permit will not cover non-members. More to come on fees and rules and look forward to some discussions at the meetings.

“Sportsman of the Year”

Mike Cubbage was nominated as The Fulton County Sportsman of the Year for 2023. Mike has assisted with trout stocking, worked on cleanup days, special workdays, and helping with the spring fishing rodeo. Mike has also served as a board member and can be counted upon to assist with any and all club projects. Thank you, Mike, for all you do for our organization. Mike is to be commended for his work with the club assisting with various club projects and activities. Mike, thank you for your dedication and time.

New Generator Installed

This is our new Kohler Generator that was purchased by the FCSL with help from the PA  Cooperative Nursery through their Grant program.  It was decided by the membership to purchase it due to low water conditions that usually happen during the summer months and early fall when the spring gets low.  If a power outage occurred when the flow was low for more than 4 hours, our pumps and aerators would stop and we could lose most of our fish, maybe all of them.  The generator runs on propane and if there would be an outage the generator would automatic kick it.  This is a good feature in case the outage would occur during  the middle of the night and not detected.  A thunder storm which could happen when a tree would fall on electric power line or an equipment malfunction.  Club members feel it was a wise move to purchase it.  A special thank you for club members who contributed a little extra by contributing or buying additional raffle tickets.  We still have to pay a considerable amount of money before it is totally paid for.  The club would appreciate any extra donations during the Fall Raffle program.

Receiving Fingerling Trout.

Below are images of receiving them.

The Trout Nursery is located south of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania at Big Cove Tannery off Corner Road. It is also the location of the meetings the club holds.

The Fulton County Sportsmen’s League would like to thank the sponsors, club members, and the community for their support throughout the year and during the Spring Children’s Fishing Rodeo and Open House.  Thank you to everyone who donated financial assistance, time and/or materials to the Fulton County Sportsmen’s League.
